The Reward of Obedience to the Lord
Happy are those who obey the Lord, who live by his commands.
Your work will provide for your needs; you will be happy and prosperous. Your wife will be like a fruitful vine in your home, and your children will be like young olive trees around your table. A man who obeys the Lord will surely be blessed like this.
May the Lord bless you from Zion! May you see Jerusalem prosper all the days of your life!
- Psalms 128:1-5
The Parable of the Mustard Seed
Jesus asked, "What is the Kingdom of God like? What shall I compare it with? It is like this. A man takes a mustard seed and plants it in his field. The plant grows and becomes a tree, and the birds make their nests in its branches."
The Parable of the Yeast
Again Jesus asked, "What shall I compare the Kingdom of God with? It is like this. A woman takes some yeast and mixes it with a bushel of flour and the whole batch of dough rises."
- Luke 13:18-21
